Wood Flooring

Is there a difference when it comes to solid vs. engineered hardwood?

Simply put both are Wood Flooring, and Both will be Engineered at some point, that is affixed on to another substrate.

An engineered wood floor is constructed with a solid wood?layer of hardwood then the pre attached? plywood, as where a solid hardwood floor is a solid piece of wood with no attached layers.

So which?should you consider when making a choice between engineered and solid hardwood?

  • Solid wood flooring typically 3/4" thick and comes in many spices and widths.
  • Engineered hardwood construction tends to move less and is more stable.?
  • Engineered wood floors are constructed with multi-layers of wood under the Top wood layer; each layer is positioned in a different direction. This construction prevents the engineered hardwood from warping and bowing the way a hardwood floor might in moist areas.
  • Engineered hardwood construction allows for installation in most grade levels of the home, including below ground with a protective moisture barrier installed.
  • Both Solid and Engineered are Durable and Long lasting.
  • All?hardwood Flooring finishes?offers easy care and maintenance.Recoating Services
